Brooks Clipping
Horse Clipping, Mane taming and Braiding
Hi there, my name is Lindsey.
I have been a passionate equestrian and horse lover for the past 20 years.
My story began when I was only 9 years old. I had finally talked my parents into letting me have riding lessons. My dream had finally come true, to have horses in my life and to learn everything I could possibly learn about them. I learnt about caring for them, riding them and training them. Ever since I first stepped into that horse barn, I have been hooked for life.
At the age of 13, I was blessed with a horse of my very own. It was a dream I had feared would never come true as I do not come from a wealthy family but only a hard working family trying to provide the best they could for their children. Tyler, the 5 year old Appaloosa horse I had been leasing for several months, was given to me as a Christmas present from my parents, after his previous owner had approached them , telling them that he and I were meant to be together. For the past 15 years Tyler and I built a forever lasting friendship. There has been many ups and downs, tears and sweat, hard work, struggles and rewards. Still to this day, that now 19 year old appaloosa horse is still everything to me.
Throughout my career as an equestrian, I have participated in many riding lessons, 4-H related shows and clinics. I have competed in everything from dressage, jumping and eventing to western pleasure and games. I have backed and trained several horses and ponies. I worked at Spruce Meadows in 2007 grooming and taking care of all the mares and foals, and walked in the international ring, which was a once and a lifetime experience! . In 2012 I enrolled in Vancouver Island University's Animal care Aid course, which I excelled in, finishing with straight A's. Also in 2012 I started on the path to becoming a certified Equine Canada English Competition Coach. I took all my rider level 1 through 8 written exams and challenged the level 8 practical exam, which I passed with flying colors. I plan to attend the coaching evaluation in May of 2016, to put myself to the test.
I have been offering horse clipping, mane pulling and braiding services for a number of years now and its all because of my clients who continuously support me year to year and pass my name on to their friends and clients. Thank you to all for your support.
